WARNING that says patch file arleady in use

I keep on getting this error in the SLOG when trying to apply SAPKB64019.

WARNING: /usr/sap/trans/tmp/SAPKKB64019.DEV is already in use (30), I'm waiting 4 sec (20070406073430). My name: pid 7737 on bsap01 (DEV00)

I have applied SAPKB64017 and 18 without any problems.

On the actual GUI SPAM sits on phase "tp user check OK" and after about 3 hours crashes . I have tried restarting it (signing off and on) I am the only person signed on to the server.

sometimes R3trans or tp dies on its way without being able to cleanup all files in the /usr/sap/trans/tmp directory :-(((

In your case the existence of /usr/sap/trans/tmp/SAPKKB64019.DEV stops the - I guess - second start of SPAM after problems from really doing something.

I would stop SPAM, would check on OS level, that no TP & R3trans is running any more and then rename the file /usr/sap/trans/tmp/SAPKKB64019.DEV to /usr/sap/trans/tmp/SAPKKB64019_old.DEV

Then you restart SPAM and it will work fine ))

It worked for me!

I didn't need to stop SPAM because it wasn't working, so I only renamed the file and it worked again.
