Export of Identity Store is failing with message 'could not add task to file'

Hi Expert,

I am facing a strange error wherein 'Identity Store' is not getting exported with error message ''could not add task to file'

For particular landscape, we have two store - HCM staging area and another for provisioning. Once for staging area gets exported without any problem but other one doesn't get exported.

You help will be very helpful, if you can provide solution/hint. (adding screen dump) - Ignore task name since even if we perform same activity for sub folder(not having particular job/task) we get the same error. Looks system shows the first task point wherein it gets error.

Hi Nishant,

May be symbol "~" in the task name causing the issue? Did you try renaming (without such symbols) the task and exporting?

Jai,

I use the tilde (~) all the time. It should not be an issue.

Nishant, has anything changed on this server or is it a new server?  I suspect Java is the cause.

Hello Nishant,

in addition to what Matt already suggested, you might want to reproduce this issue with Import/Export log level set to "Full" in the Identity Center configuration, as shown in the below screenshot.

After doing this, consider reposting some 20 lines or so from your imxport.log immediately preceding the error message.

Hi,

Try this to get more info on the problem:

In the Import_Start.bat file, there is an option to create a .out file to log more information.

Enable this by removing the rem and put a rem on the original command line.

Can you export just that task, or all tasks but that one?

Thanks for response.

Export/Import log show task name "CreateExchangeProfile". This task export works perfectly fine, looks error message is not relevant.

Any way to trace this export process to know the exact reason or more detail? - this log is not informative.

FYI-

We kept on export sub folder and found few sub folder went through fine but few didn't.

Once which didn't get exported, have gone to individual task(hierarchy) - drilling down have found couple of job failing but couldn't figure out much information.  you have any trick? ( is it like two identity store is causing problem with some linked task, if so how to get to know which task and how to avoid error)
