Prioritizing Carrier Determination

Hi All,

In our scenario, we have a Carrier maintained in the Outbound Delivery.

Carrier also maintained in the Route level.

During Shipment creation, Carrier from the Outbound delivery is prioritized. This may be the standard SAP.

As per our requirement, we need the system to consider the Carrier from Route. How to achieve this. Is there any standard way to achiveve this.

Can you explain bit more about the term 'Carrier determination' i.e. where are you maintaining multiple carriers and on what basis, you want a carrier to be determined/prioritized?

I hope you are referring to 'Service Agent' in Shipment document.

Yes. I am talking about "Service Agent" only.

Normally it can be determined using Partner Determination as well as through the Route.

Thanks for clarification.

I don't think so that you can achieve it through standard configuration.

Service agent gets picked up based on the routine assigned at shipment type level in field 'Copy routine'.

Just check if you can develop a new routine to pick carrier from route instead.

Hi Raja,

As per standard SAP first the forwarding agent is copied as the service agent from the corresponding deliveries into the shipment header.

If you would like to change the preference then you have to check the routine FV56C001 in SAP which is used to get forwarding agent in shipment.
