Future of java Guys

I seen some of the articles, sap customers are pressuring to release ABAP version of portal instead of java so that, they no need to worry of multiple skilled persons and also they can avoid communication between java and ABAP. If that is the case what would be the future of Java guys who migrated to sap. What do you suggest for Java guys who is going to migrate to sap NetWeaver?

From what I have see most big customers dont worry about the skills in their IT departments , because of the fact that most of it has been maintained by specialist System integration companies or has been outsourced. And the communication between Java and ABAP as on overhead does not seem to be a sufficient enough driver to build the entire EP on ABAP technology.

Well I am not an official voice for SAP but trends seems to show Java would start to borrow ideas from the ABAP world and ABAP will start to implement technologies that were Java only domain . It would be upto the customer to choose.

If you still feel uneasy ..learn ABAP too ..
