Long Running Update to Infocube

Hello all

We have DTP that always run successfully, but had failed today. The process runs for 8 hours and still does not have short dump. Data is only little to process that is why 8hours should not be happening. There's no error message.

Looking the request, Data Package is still yellow.

Updating to InfoCube: 19,376 -> 0 Data Records is yellow

Green status for Overlapping check with archived data areas for InfoProvider and Conversion of Characteristic Values to SIDs.

But after this steps, No Message: Write to Fact Table and No Message: InfoCube Update Completed are not executed that is why it is forever yellow.

I'm facing above error for all DTP's and Background job is cancelling for all dtp's and there is no job log creation as well.

Could you please suggest solution for this? I have tried to change the request to red and delete it. then reload the dtp again but still in yellow.

Hello Narendra

Do you see any dump in the BW system. Check for the BW system space also.

The issue related long running update to cube is been resolved and it is raised  because of lack of space in BW server.  Thank you for your help.

Hi Narendra,

Try checking and Reparing the Infocube in SE14 . If its inconsistent then loads dont happen .

Is the DTP running in process chain ? If yes, Try to activate you process chain and re run.

Hi,

please check your infocube design means dimension table size should not be more than 20% of fact table.

please check the report - SAP_INFOCUBE_DESIGNES.

check the any red colour have the dimensions. - if yes convert to the line item dimension.

Its not  related to one infocube, the above mentioned error is for all infoproviders in development scenario.

I have checked sm 51 and process are available.

There is no process chains are running parellaly.

Hi,

Try to run your dtp only where there is no other loads on bw and see.

As of now lets continue present dtp. once it fails please share error message or dump details.

As of now we can't judge what will be the issue in your case.

it full load or delta load?

I have tried running DTP when there is no other loads but still i'm facing same error.

Its not triggering any errors but DTP is in yellow and 0 records are updating to the target and

its a full load.
