Learn used and unused BEX Queries in BO

Hi,

Is there any method to learn which BEX queries are used in BO?

I want to delete unused BEX Queries from the system so I need to discover the unused Queries.

Is there any Macro Excel or any other program to learn this?

Best Regards,

Hi Ciahangir,

If you don't have Information Steward in your environment, then you need to use Query Builder.

Please check the link below about how to:

http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-42952

Hope this helps.

Hi Zahid,

Thanks for your reply.

I tried to use Query Builder but I could not learn the Query name by it.

For example, my query's name is TFI_CU01_Q001 and I am using it in Account Payable Report in Webi. Query Builder does not give me that detail info.

I think that I should look all Webi and Dashboard reports' Queries' name one by one by editing them to be able to learn their names.

Is there any easy method to list all of them by pushing one button?

Best Regards,

Cihangir

Hi,

to reply to your final point "Is there any easy method to list all of them by pushing one button?"   -

Yes, when using Lineage analysis (information steward)

Otherwise, no, it's a laborious task

Query builder would not know BW technical name of your query. It will only give you a list of OLAP Connection Names and report names using those connections.

If you need futher and detailed information then as suggested it you need to use Information Steward.

Zahid.

Hi,

to do this 'easily' you would need to integrate BIPlatform with EIM product Information Steward , and click "View Lineage" in BILaunchpad, like this :

Feature is described here in detail: Main Features of the Information Steward (4.2) Impact and Lineage Diagram - Enterprise Information M...

Hi Henry,

Thanks for your reply.

We have not got Information Steward product as a license aggrement, we have got Data Services as an EIM product.

So, I wonder whether any other method to learn which BEX Queries used in BO Reports (Webi,Dashboard vs.).

My Best Regards,

Cihangir
