Member (CIGT_TOTAL) of dimension (WBS_ELEMT) is not a base member (parent or formula)

Hi Team,

I am facing error while posting the data from BPC sheet.

Member (CIGT_TOTAL) of dimension (WBS_ELEMT) is not a base member (parent or formula)

Please let me know what is the meaning of the error.

Hi Vadim and Shrikant,  How to ensure which member is at parent level and which is at base level. Sorry, i am new to this.

Hi Seema,

If we take example of time -

Year is top level node - 2015.total

Quarter is second level parent - 2015.Q1, 2015.Q2, 2016.Q3, 2016.04

Months are the base level members- 2015.01, 2015.02, ...2015.12

Sorry, but it's ABSOLUTELY basic question. You have to read at least some documents about BPC before using it

Resolved. member in EPM Context was at Parent level. now i have changed it to base level and posted the data.

Hi Seema,

Kindly check that all the members in report(row ,column, page axis)  are at base level and also check the other dimension members which are not in any axis are at base level. (Context member)

It means that you are trying to save some value to the parent member - impossible!
