Hi experts,
I try to start with connection monitoring in Solution Manager - Technical Monitoring.
First impression - pretty good.
However, I have one problem, to get all RFCs from managed system.
I get the popup, that the backgroud-job did start to determine the connections, however also later I don't get all RFCs.
I've already checked the extractor-framework, which is active/green.
BTW, I don't get displayed any TCPIP-Connection, but the will also work, right?
Kind regards
I would say use URL monitoring and GRMG for monitoring those non-abap servers.
If those say
Also, a custom script might help you achieve this, where you can put in a loop which does a technical ping to these system and connection test to check and alert in case of any failure.

can you ping the portal host from your desktop? have you tried to launch the portal using link : http://<port_host_name>:<portal_port> (for example http://abc:50000)
Are the TCP/IP RFCs one that are registered programs? You could monitor the program on the server running as a possible solution to monitoring TCP/IP RFCs.

Hi Christian,
TCP/IP connections are not supported for Connection Monitoring. For Monitoring TCP/IP connections please can you review the following SAP wiki for Interface Channel Monitoring.
http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/TechOps/ICMON_FAQ
Connection Monitoring supports connections of the following types only:
3 - ABAP Connection,
G - HTTP Connection to External Server
H - HTTP Connection to ABAP System
If you are missing RFC connection then as mentioned you should check the
Extractor Framework of the SAP Solution Manager Administration the ABAP RFC
Extractor for Connection Monitoring. If no errors occur there can you confirm your SOLMAN SP level.
Kind regards,
Roland
