According to the SAP Notes below, this behavior is by design.

1996064 - Universe (unv or unx) object level formatting does not work in WebIntelligence.

1564177 - Objects formatted in the universe lose formatting when viewed in Web Intelligence

I checked the latest release notes, but did not get any more info on this.

I did a SAP Note search for that adapt and returned 1996064 - Universe (unv or unx) object level formatting does not
work in WebIntelligence.

you might have already been in contact with Technical Support to confirm, but it doesn't seem like development are issuing a correction for this one.
