Hi Kiran,

Have you used EPM protection?

What do you mean by "I modify/delete forecast numbers"?

Actually we copied the actuals to forecast numbers ,now users want to add or modified the forecast numbers,If they want to modify the numbers the same pop up appears like please un protect the sheet first?

Do you have any idea?

Thanks,

HI Kiran,

Kindly check your formatting sheet whether you have locked cell where you want to input data.

Hi Kiran,

If you use formatting sheet - please correctly set locked for the required data cells.

Without formatting sheet - directly set lock on the report cells to be changed to off.

Hello Kiran,

If you want to edit the data with Protect worksheet, try Allow users to Edit range function of Excel. With this you can specify range of data where protection does not apply.

Hi Bhagyesh,

Not sure that your proposal is relevant to the Kiran's issue. The lock property has to be properly set for cells... And EPM protection has to be used.

Hi Vadim,

I have applied this function in one of my report. Through this we can protect whole worksheet and can provide the Cell range where this protection is not required. In my case I have given the Report range where user can make changes to data but other function (i.e Delete column, rows and all were locked).

The idea of this function is to provide personal access to some ranges with:

1. Active directory user id's

2. Different passwords for different areas.

The rest is covered by cell's locked property and EPM protection options.

You have probably used the Excel Sheet Protection.

So, Un-protect Excel sheet and just use EPM sheet protection. That will do.
