Number Ranges FBN1

Hi Experts,

I have a scenario in one of my client. We have implemented SAP there in 2014. The number ranges are for Eg. 010000000 to 019999999 maintained for the year 2014 & the last number is 010002495.

Now in year 2015 they want to continue the number range from the last number of 2014 & also they want to keep the gap of 1000 for the 2014 as still audit is not done.

But they have already started using the number range for 2015 & reached for eg. 010000020.

Now I want to split the number range as follows:

1. 010000000 to 010003495 (for the year 2014) as they want the gap of 1000 for the transaction of 2014.

2. 010000000 to 010000020 (for the year 2015) as they have already started using the number range for 2015 & I want to close that.

3. 010003496 to 019999999 ( for the year 2015) As they want to continue with the Last number of the 2014.

When I tried to maintain the same, system gives me the error Interval Already Exists.

Kindly Advice, how shall I maintain the number ranges as above.

Thanks & Regards,

Nilesh

You can just set the current number as 010003496, so that system will take the number range after the current number.
Create just one number range like below:

No.    Year           From Number            To Number             Current Number

01       2015         010000000             019999999           010003496

Hi Nilesh,

Probably you are trying to edit the number range as shown in point 2 in your post above and also the new number range in 3 as shown in your post.

First change the number range as shown in 2 above and save it.  Then go back and add the range as shown in 3 above.

Hi Nilesh,

Intervals must not be overlap.

You have to delete first interval 010000000 to 019999999 for 2015 and create 010003496 to 019999999 for 2015.

Since you have used this interval this year you can´t delete the interval.

You have to select menu option Change Current Number Shify+F6 and change current number to zero. After this you are able to delete the initial interval and recreate as you wish.

Hi Nilesh,

I agree with Marsell. If you donot want to delete the existing interval, then create a new number range with the range and assign it to the document type. With this document will be posted with new number range.
