SAML 2.0 SSO between SAP Portal and SuccessFactors

Hi Experts,

I am trying to establish SSO between SAP Portal 7.31(on-premisis) with SuccessFactors (Cloud).

I have followed the steps mentioned in the below document.

however, SuccessFactors contants are not loading in portal. In HTTPWatch, I am getting error as “Error_Internet_cannot_connect”.

Please suggest how to resolve this.

Hi Pavan ,

1 ) Please check you can connect the portal site ( http s) from the success factor site

2 ) Please paste the security log from  the following location of your Portal system

/usr/sap/<Portal SID > /<INSTANCE>/j2ee/cluster/server0/log/system

No, I did not understand the Step 4.

According to the document Step 4, SF's userid should be available as user attribute in Portal UME. To do this, we need to modify the UME settings, right ?

Hi Pavan ,

Configure step 4 and try once again . Yes you need to configure this user as this user will be used as the refernce user for  SSO logon for all other users .

Before you try connecting  , rename the security log file   and if the connection fails again paste the contents of the new  security log file

The issue somehow seems to be happening much before the SSO handshake .  Are you able to directly access Success Factors site directly from your Portal site .

Have you done Step :4 ie User mapping .   ( Make sure the user exists both in the SF and portal  and has the required authorization for the directories in portal )

Hi Manu,

I have created an URL iview to launch the SF system (non-SSO scenario). Its taking me to login screen. However, I am not able to log into SF system by providing Userid/Password. The reason for this behavior according to SF team is, they have imported the Portal SSO certificate, hence user cannot login as normal using userid/password. Strange behavior !!.

For SSO scenario, Do I have to perform the Step 4 ? The "suser" I am using to test, is available in both the systems. So I though its not required to do this configuration. Correct me if I am wrong.
