Hello Gurus,

We have Requirement to Create report based on 15 customers and add some calculated and restricted key figures. Please let me know your thought , where do I filter customers ? is it possible to filter in Bex ?

Hi Bond,

There are different ways to restrict customers however need to choose best way,

As per your requirement create authorization based reports this will solve the problem, if you restrict a query level , in future report maintain will become tough activity as we need to add new customers in all reports.

If you goto authorization,lest create one report that will fit for all and less maintenance,.

Please do share more about requirement so that you will get best approaches.

Thanks for Quick Response. Can you please explain Create Authorization based Report ? This is report for only specific group so their will be no customer added.as per user.

As you said there is different ways - can you please list all ?

This is requirement - user want report 15 focus customer and some key figures.so for example user pull the report for one key figure, he want to see that key figure to be showing for 15 customer only. He does not want full master data of customers. he just want to narrow down to only 15 customers.

Then directly restrict those 15 customers in filter area and provide report for testing.

Hi,

you can use conditons on the KF values.

KF some values is populating - create the TOP N values.

it will give the only TOP N customer when ever run the query.

it will work based on the keyfigure value.

Hi Bond,

You can use Analysis authorizations for restricting users based on characteristic values to avoid creating multiple queries for each user.
