I'm using CR 2011 (v14.0.4.738 RTM) and have been for quite some time. For the past few weeks when I double-click to run it, the splash screen appears, the UI opens, but its in wait mode for 9-10 minutes before it finally allows me to start working with it. To the best of my knowledge nothing has changed on my machine which would have caused it. Once it does open, it works just fine.
Also, to make it clear: I'm only opening CR, nor a specific RPT file.
What could cause something like this to happen?

Hi Carl,
It sometimes takes this time to connect to the internet and load the startpage that you see.
Go ahead and disable it to speed the startup.
Go to Help > uncheck 'Show Start Page' and 'Check for updates on Startup'.
