SAP CO month-end closure sequence change possibility ?

Is it Ok to execute sales order Settlement [VA88] before cost center allocation [KSU5] or COPA assessment [KEU5] ?

SOP is you will do settlement as a last period end activity

You cannot do that. Because any price variance happened after run allocation for the cost centre, that it will not reflect.

Thanks for the quick response.

How "price variance" impact to CO/profitability. Cost of sales flow from product costing and OH rates do not change monthly.

Hi Tharaka,

After you do allocation, you have to run revaluation of your activity types with actual prices. Then after you calculate overhead. If you directly do settlement, then this will not impact.

We have already completed the revaluation run (CK40) and we are on Standard Costing. Therefore, hope there is no dependency between SO settlement and allocation/assessment runs?
