DMS - Unable to open a 3D file on Visual enterprise viewer

Hi,

We are unable to open 3D files (*.CAD) from 'Originals' tab in CV03N.Visual Enterprise viewer(VEV) is installed.

Word and other 2D formats open fine.3D files open sucessfully from VEV installed on the desktop.

Below is the error screenshot:

Files are stored in content server.Below configurations are done:

1) 'Define Workstation Application' - Appl ACD is defined for file formats - *.dwg,*.sldprt,*.slddrw

2) Define Workstation Application in Network -

PC	ACD	1	Autocad	EAIWeb.webviewer3D.1%SAP-CONTROL%
PC	ACD	2	Autocad	EAIWeb.webviewer3D.1%SAP-CONTROL%
PC	ACD	3	Autocad	EAIWeb.webviewer3D.1%SAP-CONTROL%

3) Mime type is defined for ACAD as - 'application/acad'

4) Data carrier is defined for 'server,front end' as - C:\TEMP

Please suggest if we have missed any config to open 3D files in VEV from content server.

Hi Deepika,

Can you try removing the hard code *.CAD form the document type ACD just for the time being and check if the CAD file is opening for this document now. If possible, please can you check if you can add *.CAD in 'Define Workstation Application'.

Please provide your feedback and inputs.

Thanks for the reponse Arjit.

Sorry for misunderstanding, but thrs no *.CAD hardcoding anywhere.The file name of our autocad file is 'accroch_www.TutoAutoCAD.com.dwg'

I added *.CAD in 'Define Workstation Application', now it gives a different error message 'Error while calling EAI viewer'.

We are also checking with basis guys if theres any integration issue, meanwhile please let us now if thrs something else that we've missed.

PS: We don't mind even if the 3D file opens atleast on EAI, if not VEV.

Hi Deepika,

While you check with Basis team, please can you also check the below config node -

1. Cross-Application Components => Document Management => Control Data => Define Document Types = ACD

Please can you check if you blank out both of these fields and check if it's working and if you add default application as DWG /ACD here form F4 and check if it's working.

2. Cross-Application Components => Document Management => General Data => Define Workstation Application

In the default application you selected above, please can you check if this section is correctly maintained or not. Please remember to double check this with Basis team.

Thanks for your response.

We have tried all the above configs, but it's not helping resolve our issue.

Please guide us on integration between SAP & Visual Enterprise Viewer. It will be really helpful if you can provide link to any such guidebook/document.
