Hi
There are many PM processes within Chemicals, most of which are similar to those in other processes industries. These range from basic reactive maintenance to full blown predictive maintenance. The differences usually are found in what is being maintained. For example when looking at Safety Instrumented System, or Safety Instrumented Functions different industry standards(for inspection, reporting etc.) are applied e.g. ISA-TR84.00.02-2002. SAP EAM solution can support these requirements. It just depends on the set up (e.g. Master Data, Codes, Tasks etc.)
A good place to start with EAM in Chemicals is to look at the contents of the SAP Best Practices for Chemicals SAP Best Practices for Chemicals
In particular those for Maintenance: See Under Technical Information / Content Library: Scenarios 929 Operational Maintenance, 930 Preventative Maintenance, 888 Work Clearance Management.

John
