Hello all,
As mentioned in the title, I need 541 movement to create inspection lot.
To this goal, I configured T156SY and T156M tables as below( I may have done this wrong),
I also maintained the master of material with inspection type '05'.
Now after I 541 the material, system creates inspection lot, sends material to quality stock but, in QA12 inspection lot stock tab is missing. I cannot send material from quality stock to unrestricted stock by using qm.
What did I do wrong?
Thanks.

Interesting modification !
But I wouldn't modify the configuration for SAP internal control.

Hi,
What modification did you do to get the inspection lot for mvmt type 541 since it doesn't have any lot origin assigned !!
Besides, Inspection lot stock tab doesn't appear when there is some non-stock relevant inspection type is involved. I doubt you get an inspection lot with '05' origin.
Pl share the snapshot of Inspection lot & MB51 and others you feel like sharing !
Also, try posting this material out of QI using 321 mvmt via MB1B. I think you'll be able to do that (Because if it is non-stock inspection lot, quantity would have gone into QI by other means)

Hi,
Tell me you have created this inspection lot manually but not automatically on the basis of 541 mvmt. Or else, there has to be a insp lot stock tab into it.
I assume above statement is correct and you somehow posted the quantity into QI during execution and that's the reason you could take it out of QI using MB1B. Correct ??
You must know 541 is used to post the quantity to vendor stock then how/ why would system post it to QI for 541 mvmt? May be little explanation of the business give a better insight.

Hi Nitin,
No I haven't created IL manually. After my 541 modification system started to create IL automatically.
My company wants to inspect materials before sending to subcontractor. So after 541an IL would be created for each material and after approval of quality responsible we can physically transfer the goods.
How about going by standard procedure by introducing an intermediate storage location SL1 ?
I'd have done that for sure if there is no more surprise involved !

Hello Nitin,
Yes I considered that solution too but I have two problems;
1. I don't want each 311 movement to trigger quality inspection because we use this movement type for other purposes,
2. Our stock personnel is doing 541 movement with reference to a PO document(ME2O and MB1B). So he doesn't need to manually determine amounts for each material.
Another case to please users !!
Well that's correct you may want to ensure the quality of material before sending it out but this scenario is somewhat not digestible.
At this moment, I can't think of a solution for this (some enhancement may do something) but again you are looking at QI stock (via inspection lot) for a movement type SAP itself hasn't assigned an inspection lot origin to.
I won't recommend doing that & love to get opinions from experts here

I think your solution of modifying the system is not very good. Modification should always be the last thing one should do. You will for sure get issues with the next SAP Release update, as the movement types are kind of one of the very basic elements of SAP logistics. You will also get issues with the SAP Support if you have any tickets in the Logistics area, as they might tell you they do not provide support because you modified the system here.
Actually the proposal of Nitin is not so bad. If you combine it with a user exit that only creates inspection lots when sending the stuff to this specific storage location, it should work fine (we do this for 08 inspection type, too).
