Instance no changing

Hi,

Is that possible to change instance number after installation expecially for ABAP_JAVA system??

Hi,

Central instance number cannot be changed after the installation.

even the SID cannot be changed after installation.

one thing you can do is,

if you are familiar with system copy,you can use the existing and working instance,take export CD of it ,which will hardly take 20 minutes.

then import that CD using same system copy methodology,wherein you get options of changing both SID and instance number.this will also take hardly 30 minutes to import the entire content.

one more advantage of following this is,

all your configurations will be retained.
