MRP type VM

When we use MRP type VM it is causing our demand (sales orders) to go on credit hold.  Also MRP type VM doesn't seem to be creating planned orders as expected.

Thank you.

Hi Marianne

MRP does not change sales orders at all and it does not carry out any kind of credit check on the sales orders. I suggest you to open a thread on the SD space so that the sales experts can tell you if there is any SD customizing dependent on the MRP type which may affect the credit check.

Regarding the MRP type, as it was already explained, it's a reorder point MRP type based on forecast. You cannot expect to have planned orders created for each requirement, such as when using MRP type PD.

If you don't know exactly how VM works or if you are not using forecast, you may use a simpler reorder point MRP type, such as VB or even the classic PD.

Dear Zoricak,

MRP type VM is Automatic reorder point planning.

In case of Automatic Reorder Point Planning (VM), the system calculates the recorder point and the safety stock using the past historical consumption data to derive the future consumption patterns.

Sales order, planned independent requirements or material reservations are not considered for net requirement calculation. Procurement  proposals are only created if available stock falls below reorder point level.

Setting:

You need to extend the material master for the forecast view with a valid forecasting method selected.

Hope it helps you.

Thank you!!

Hi Marianne,

MRP type VM is autocratic re Order Point Planning. This Is Consumption Based MRP Type. with this MRP type system Will not Consider The Demand(PIR or Sales orders). it will only check the Reorder Point and Gives the Results.

EX: In the MRP 1 view Below to the MRP type Filed There is A Reorder point Filed system Automatically proposes the Quantity in  Re order Point Field. so while Running MRP system checks the Existinng stock with re order Quantity and Proposes the Procurement results.

For Ex : Re order quantity is 100 and current stock is 80 it will give the planned order for 20 . in the same way if the current stock is 101 or any thing more than re order point it will not give any procurement result.

it will proposes the Planned order even for quantity 1 if the stock fall below the  re order  point.

so in re order point planning There is no place for PIR oir Sales orders.

mahesh.

ZOricak,

VM is a MRP type for automatic reorder point planning in this system checks whether the available stocks are below the reorder point that has been set for the material. If they are system will create procurement proposal.

If you are talking about sales order requirement I am not sure whether it would consider but try with setting Include external requirements in MRP Type configuration in OMDQ.
