Crystal report 2008 and Oracle 12c

Hi all,

I have crystal report 2008, I could connect Oracle 11g successfully after installed Oracle client 11g. Now we are upgrading to Oracle 12c.

I am new with Oracle 12c. Does Crystal report 2008 support Oracle 12c?

If yes, which library I have to install and configure?

My PC is currently 32bit.

Thanks & Regards,
Danh

Hi Danh,

Crystal Reports 2008 SP7 supports Oracle 12 c.

Have a look at the document:

For Native connectivity: You need to install Oracle Client 12.1 (32 bit) on the client machine.

For JDBC, download JAR file: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/features/jdbc/jdbc-drivers-12c-download-1958347.html

For more details on JDBC visit a URL:

Hi, did this work in the end?

I recently had to format my laptop and I've been trying desperately to link my crystal reports 2008 to my oracle 11g, but to no avail.

Aside from installing both CR 2008 and Oracle 11g, I also changed the tnsnames.ora file, adding the following script:

COSPROD =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = oracle-it.xxxx.xxxx.xx)(PORT = 1521))
)
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVICE_NAME = cosprod)
)
)

Despite the latter, I just can't get the Oracle option when opening crystal reports.

Any help will be really appreciated.

cheers,

Alex
