Hello SAPIENT,

Can anyone suggest me what should be description of maintenance plan and item by best practice?

Maintenance item is technical object either FLOC or EQPT then is it advisable to keep description of equipment/FLOC in maintenance item?

In the same manner what should be description of maintenance plan?

Regards,

Hello Deepti,

the plan description can be a combination of

1. Cycle period

2. Group of Technical objects identified by

3. Planner Group

4. Maint Work Center

5. Priority etc

like

"Monthly PrevMaint of Rolling Zone1 Pump Motors"

Here monthly is the cycle period, Pump motors is the list of technical objects of the items of the plan and Rolling Zone1 is the Planner Group. Apply this to your case.

There's no real "standard" for naming plans/items.

Bear in mind that the Item text is transferred to the order/notification header.

If you are using strategy plans, then it doesn't make sense to include the cycle/period in the Item text as these will be different for each call...

Some companies have a naming convention for plans/items. Some have different naming conventions by plant or business group.
