How to delete archive files without storing in storage system

Hi Experts,

I am archiving tables S033 and S680 through SARA tcode.

I have 'store automatically' option checked in the customizing for these archiving objects.

Is there any procedure to archive these tables and directly delete those archive files from file server without storing it.

Hi Diptilata,

It is not a good practise to delete data from the database without storing the archive files in a correct storage space.

You may look for option of deleting first before store is triggered if the data is not required to be retrieved later.

Thanks for your suggestion.

But I have a concern if we check store before delete option in customization for the archive object can we delete the archive files from file server without storing by any chance.

Any pointers would really be helpful.

This is not possible in Standard SAP . You may need to write some script to delete the archive files where it is stored.

You can either store first and then delete from database or delete from database first then store the files in archive server.
