Hi all,
I am a little new to SAP XI. Why do we need two objects for almost doing the same thing Receiver agreement and Receiver Determination?
Thanks,
SOnia,
Both the objects serve entirely different purpose.
Receiver Determination: When a msg reaches XI server from source, Xi determines the target using this object.
Receiver Agreement: A binding between your receiver communication channel and the target system.

Jai Shankar

Hi,
Receiver Determination :
You use a receiver determination to specify which receivers a message is to be sent to. You have the option of defining conditions for forwarding the message to the receivers. You specify services as receivers of messages

Receiver Agreement :
In a receiver agreement, you define how the message is to be transformed so that it can be processed by a receiver.
You must specify a receiver agreement for all adapter types to ensure that outbound processing is executed correctly.

Hi Sonia,
Receiver Determination is a configuration object in that describes the assignment of a sender interface and an outbound interface to one or more receivers.
Receiver determination is used to specify which receivers a message is to be sent to. We have the option of defining conditions for forwarding the message to the receivers.
Within a receiver determination it is also possible to define conditions for forwarding a message to different receivers. Logical routing is defined by both receiver determinations and interface determinations.
See one example on receiver Determination:

A Receiver determination define one or more receivers for a particular sender and an Otbound interface.

Hi Sonia,
Receiver determination is something you are telling that what is the exact receiver for that particular scenario
Receiver agreement:In a receiver agreement, you define how the message is to be transformed so that it can be processed by a receiver.
You must specify a receiver agreement for all adapter types to ensure that outbound processing is executed correctly.
Please look at the parameters what exactly you are doing.
Thanks and Regards,
Chandu.
