SMP3 - AppDevelopment (Kapsel):

Hi, I have a question on SMP3 and AppDevelopment (Kapsel):

do i need to have the entire SMP infrastructure in order to develop hybrid Fiori applications?

i need to use existing Fiori applications (like Approve Travel Expense) which are build as web based HTML5 (SAP UI5) applications.

can I run these applications as hybrid (say for instance, the end users need to access iPhone Camera to scan receipts and attach to the travel expenses)?

regards,

Tom

Hi Tom,

You only need SMP SDK to develop a hybrid app (ie. custom Fiori client) for Fiori. The Fiori client is a cordova app, so you are free to add any plugins to it (ex. barcode scanner). The SDK is available as a trial version and in SAP service market place. You can install the SDK in your local machine.

SMP server (ie. runtime) is needed if you use SMP server dependent  plugins such as offline, push notification etc.

Hope that helps.

Hi Tom,

It actually depends on version of Fiori client to enable to have any device capabilities for any of standard fiori app.

Pls see section 'Access to Device features (Camera, GPS, etc…)' in below link
