how to view attachments in Fiori app "Aprove Travel Expense"

is viewing of attachments supported in Fiori App "Approve Travel expenses"?

as per discussion thread

it looks like it does not.

but as per Fiori app documentation below it looks like "The app offers the possibility to upload documents."....

Hi Tom,

As Vasilis pointed out, looks like attachments feature has been added with latest support pack (SP 004)  for approve travel expenses. I remember when we try to implement older support pack (<=SP 003) of approve travel expense app there is no way manager can able to see attachments except the numbers to approve or reject. 

In addition to that, It does have an option to App Extensibility which the mentioned thread was referring.

any idea what kind of attachment types (PDF, Word documents etc) are supported and how - for instance Word documents- be rendered on iPhone as iOS is not that great when it comes to display Microsoft documents....

Hi Tom,

Attachments will be added through ESS by an employee, and only he is authorized to edit or change the attachments. Once it goes to the approver, he can view it and approve the expense report.

All file formats except zipped or compressed files are acceptable.As you are adding from the ESS or TRIP in backend sap system, so the functionality is same.

Approve travel expense should behave like SAP Inbox and all attachments type, which opens in inbox should open in fiori as well.

Regarding word documents issue with iphone,there are many tools in appstore, like documents-free and other cloud versions like, upload the same in google docs and view it.if you are ready to pay some then iWork

hi Tejas, thanks for your feedback.

just one thing i need to clarify.

when I click on button "view attachments" in Fiori app, how is this redirected to the iPhone document viewer? Fiori apps are web based, and run inside the "sandbox" they cannot access native functions.

If I am not wrong, the attachment will be automatically downloaded to your iphone, once you tap. Doesnot open any document viewer.

do we need SAP Fiori client ( i think this is a separate install) in order to view documents in Travel and Expense Fiori App?

Hi Tom,

Yes, we need SAP Fiori client to access standard Fiori apps from mobile. Including attachment handling it also has other features like Cache Mgmt, Security config & device capabilities.
