prashanth if if i make the proxy in a R/3 other than the XI, do i need to make rfc destination and ports in the R/3 where i make the proxy....

if i use the same ABAP stack for the R/3(where i make proxy) and XI, do i need to make RFC destination

Sudeep,

ABAP proxies are created only in R/3 and not in XI. You can create in Xi server but in a different client.

But what ever is the case, you need to create some RFC destinations. All theses destinations are created only once.

Refer to this blog by Vijaya for knowing the required RFC connections
