Pick a predefined numbering for a user defined field

Hi Experts

I have a user defined field called Style, which has to pick predefined automatic numbering series based on the user input, for ex. if the style code is entered as "STY1" then the numbering series defined for STY1 should get generated.

and also if the user enters the stylecode manually then it has to take the style code entered.

Have you checked the option of defining numbering series for items under document numbering?

Hi the Requirement is as below:

In the Item master data, I have created a UDF called Style code. There are already around 1000 Style code which is generated in the legacy system. When the user creates a new Item, if the style code is already generated then the user enters the style code, and if its a new style code then it has to be generated with the next running number
