Hi Experts,

when we want to Migrate universe  from .unv to .unx   having two options in BO  1) Upgrade management tool 

                                                                                                                                 2) Information design tool (log in IDT file<convert .unv to unx formate)

What is difference between Upgrade management tool and Information design tool convert   from .unv to unx   purpose

There is only one option for converting UNV universes to UNX universes - the Information Design Tool. The purpose of the Upgrade Management Tool is to migrate content from pre-BI 4.0 (XI R2 SP2+, XI 3.0, XI 3.1) versions into the BI 4 platform. It does not change the universe format.

Also worth noting - you are not required to convert your existing UNV universes. They will work as-is in BI4. In my opinion, your migration project to BI4 will go much more smoothly it does not include UNV to UNX conversion- wait until after a successful go-live of BI4 before looking at UNX conversion.
