promts in webi

Hi experts,

Apply the promt in query level in webi performance is decrease or increase?

Hi Raoprsanth,

Are you talking about a query from BW or Universe?

If you apply the prompt at the BEx Query level then the dataset will be filtered before it gets to Webi which would increase the performance.

If you apply it at the Webi Query level then the data would first have to be retrieved from BW and then filtered further by Webi.

If this is straight from a Universe then you will send the required SQL to the database and filter.
