SAP GUI 7.4 to be update new patch?

Hi Experts,

Now we are installing new enhancement in our org.

We installed GUI 7.40.

Is it required to install new patch also?

If it is yes why?

If it is No Why?.Can anybody share your views.

Hello Nivas

We suggest to use latest patch. If you are using GUI 740,

the latest GUI patch is patch level 1. In GUI patch download page,

if you click on the "Info" item, you will see a popup and it has

listed all the fix in the GUI patch.

Thanks for your reply. I downloaded new patch level 1 but when i was running in my pc it is showing  below mentioned message and next button is not activating.

Hello Nivas

Please press "ALT+F12" on the keyborad in any session in SAP system, select "About"(last option),

and check what's the "File Version" and "Patch Level" on your PC?

Please also refer to note 1099439 to provide the .cab file. If you can't upload .cab file, please upload the following files in the .cab file:

1. If "Errors" folder exists, please provide the .xml file in the "Error" folder.

2. please provide the following files in "LOGs" folder:

NwSapSetup.log

NwSapSetup_01.log

NwSapSetup_02.log

NwSapSetup_03.log

NwSapSetup_04.log

NwSapSetup_05.log

Thanks for your reply.

File version 7400.1.1.3306 and patch level 1.That's means patch has updated.

How will we check .cab.file ?

Hi Liang,

we have the same Problem with the Installation of the patch 1.

The installationcheck reports 4 errors.

How we can fix it?

We use the SAP Frontend installationserver and we can't install the patch

on the Server and the Frontend.

Error log attached.

It means the patch 1 has been updated, so you don't need to apply it again.

If you apply it again, the popup will be diaplayed. It's a correct behavior

and we don't need to check the .cab file any more.

You can also check your file version and patch level using the following

method:

If it's already patch level 1, you don't need to apply it once again.

Sometimes, a GUI installer will contain a patch. e.g. GUI 730 CD 3 may

contains GUI 730 patch 7, in this case you can only apply GUI 730 patch 8

or higher patch level on the PC.

Thank you Liang,

but this not helps me.

I setup a new installationserver and build a new package to distibute SAP GUI 7.40.

Now i can install the patch 1.

Unfortunately this Version is buggy, on different clients crash the GUI at printing on LOCL device.

We have stopped our project for upgrade to 7.40 and waiting for a stable version.
