Public folder lost security/Prinicpals.

Hello,

One of our public folders "lost" its principals.  Users could not acces the folder, so while investigating I found out principals (groups) were no longer granted Access (none were listed) under User security.

I added them back on to fix the issue, but Am wondering what could have caused this issue? Last changes were promotions were performed on a subfolder of this folder.

1. Hope you have Auditing on to capture what happened to this Public folder that lost security/Principals.  Run Auditor/en/"Rights Modification" on that Public folder to get an idea. 2. Who are there in the Administrators group?  Check if anyone of the Administrators might have done the change without a proper change request. Hope this helps, Jin-Chong

I just ran an audit report for all events on that folder, and found rights modified by an admin.  Thank you for your help.
