Permissions for standard KM folders in NW 7.3 EHP1 SPS9

Hello All,

We have migrated from EP7.0 to CE 7.3 EHP1 SPS9 Portal and I see that all folders (including standard ones) KM root have 'Everyone = Full Control" permissions.

Could someone please share some comments/suggestions on what should be the correct permissions for below folders under KM root?

And it will also be great if I can get a bit of information of what each folder is used for.

discussion groups

documents

etc

global shared content

pid

room structures

rooms

runtime

staging area

webdynamic

ume

userhome

Hi Amey,

Have you followed the formal SAP documentation?:

Setting Permissions - Knowledge Management - SAP Library

It states the following:

"After the installation, the permission Everyone Full Control is assigned to all folders. We therefore strongly recommend that you change some of the initial permissions to meet your requirements."

The documentation refers to SAP note 599425, which contains all the details about what are the recommended settings.
