Hi SAP Users,
Can anyone comment on the following
MY client is thinking of the following scenario
X Company - will have 3 subsidiary companies ( company codes)
Y Company- wil have 2 subsidiary companies ( company codes)
I am sure , we cannot set up two companies in one client.
Any comments
Regards,
TSK
Hi TSK ,
Under a client one can create any number of company codes . In your case create 5 company codes under a client. For X company say 1000, 1001, 1002 and For company Y 2000,2001. Now all the company codes under X should have a common chart of accounts likewise for Y also. A term company in SAP always refer the collection of company codes under one umbrella.
Hope this may clarify your doubt.

Hi,
You cannot 'n' no. of companies in one client. Here company means group company. Assign of co.codes to the company means its subsidiaries. So, X or Y companies are independent each other. So can create it as separately.

HI Mukthar Ali and Selvakumar,
Following is the Hierarchy
A Company has subsidiary ( Company codes as 1000,2000,3000)
B Company has Subsidiaries ( Company Codes as 4000, 5000, 6000)
Here can we create 2 companies?
all will be using same COA.
IF we can create 2 Companies,
then after some time, A Company and B Company have to be consolidated at company level.
And I think we cannot make intercompany postings between company A and B.

TSK
Hi
If you see the structure , will see..
Client > Company (Group level) > controlling area > CCodes
So same Controlling area is defined at multiple CCodes and tree is under one Group company
But I don't think same controlling area can be defined in multiple company levels...
You are proposing...company A() () CCodes 1000/2000/3000
() Controlling area ()
company B () () CCodes 4000/5000
I think ...difficult
