I have created BOM and production order is added against it. Different prices such as factory rate, store rate, last evaluated price etc. are assigned to this item. There is large variation in the price of this item. So I tried to update the Last Evaluated Price using Inventory Audit Report. While running the Inventory Audit Report, I selected that particular item only i.e. executed the report for that single item. But the Last Evaluated Price is not getting updated. How do I update the price of this item ?
Dilip:
The last evaluated price in the Inventory In Warehouse Report defaults from selections made on the last run of the Inventory Valuation Report. Valuation is a managerial report used to calculate what-if scenarios for inventory valuation by methods other than the item default valuation.
Try this:
Run the Inventory Valuation Report (In v9.0 it is called Inventory Valuation Simulation Report)
Enter the item code
The report defaults to all warehouse - depending upon your setup you may want to run it with all warehouses or limit to a specific warehouse
In the upper right of the window "Calc Method" select Last Evaluated Price
Select OK to run the report
After running this report - run the Inventory In Warehouse and select PRICE SOURCE = Last Evaluated Price. You should then see the correct results. The Inventory Audit report does not recalculate the cost but displays the information from the database. You can view each transaction by selecting EXPAND in lower right corner. One note from Online Help: When working with a perpetual inventory system, the price list of a production bill of materials is relevant only for sales documents. In sales documents, the item price of the Sales and Assembly BOM is determined by the customer price list and not by the BOM definition. Hope this is helpful.
