SAP GUI latest releases and download

Dear Experts,

Its great to hear about release of GUI 7.40.

(1) I want to know that apart from more interactive layout,(better themes,icons,design) , what additional features  are imparted with new GUI installations.

(2) Can a functional consultant download and install GUI 7.40 in his/her system? Please suggest the way to do it.

(3) Do we require unit testing, integration testing once we migrate to new GUI?

Please give your useful replies.

Hi Saurabh

Please refer to SAP note 2022335 about the new features in SAP GUI for Windows 7.40.

You can refer to SAP note 535308 on how to download GUI 740. You can also refer to

the blog as Rajesh suggested. It contains the procedure on how to install SAPGUI

740 and NWBC 5.0.

Regarding you question 3(Do we require unit testing, integration testing once we

migrate to new GUI?), it depends on the application you are using. e.g. if you are using

Office integration, you can download a file to local PC or display data in EXCEL inplace

and check whether there is any issue or not?

Hi Sourabh,

Download the SAPGUI 740 from the Market Place and it contains the NWBC 5.0 also.

After Install it, don't forget to apply patch release of the GUI 740.
