Hi all,
We will be installing BO Platform WebLogic and we want to know what are the advantages of Weblogic against Tomcat? Besides being not free. Which one would perform better Tomcat or WebLogic?
How should we install WebLogic on top of UNIX or Windows? On which one WebLogic would perform better?
What would be the issues on WebLogic if used in BO 4.1?
Thanks.
Zahid,
BEA WebLogic being a supported product is the MOST important. If you have JAVA related issue, performance issues &/or any other issue you can get support from the vendor. With Tomcat being a shareware product you need to do all the work. Tomcat is offered FREE by SAP but they DO NOT provide FULL support on Tomcat. The key word being FREE. This is the main reason why many Government and Fortune 500 Corporations prefer a proper licensed vendor over shareware.
Regards,
Ajay

It all depends on your organization choice. You should not see any differences between Tomcat and Weblogic as far as BO performace is concerned.
Installation of weglogic is out fo scope in this forum. SAP web app guide only show how to deploy the BO web apps on web logic.
