GL1025 File specification-AMEX

Hi All,

I want to test GL1025 file uplaod in SAP. I got one test file with some test data. I want to replace the test data with my system data. I am unable to identify the specification s of the file and replace accordingly.

For example:

In GL1025 file, I am seeing the data as:

0136554         614629     GL1025  0001 01 2014-12-19 14353 03 2007-09-21 P03548402 +000000003423249 +000831707382525000000000000000
8201412191435335103784028402 +000000003423249+000000000000000+000000003423249 +000000008317073+0000+000000008317073000000000000229

Now, I want to add my system employee number, credit card number, expense type and dates etc.

Now how do I understand as to which data pertains to what, so that I can replace them with my data. In simple words, I want to decode the test GL1025 file and identify the data to be replaced with correct values. Once my test file is ready I can upload them to my SAP and test.

Please help.

Hi,

Let me attach the file I am trying to match with the GL1025 file specification. These are old sample data, which needs to replaced with new sample data. Hope you have the AMEX file specification.

Hi Vijay,

Firstly I would not have attached the file in this post which contains user's credit card numbers i.e. confidential information. I hope that the file you send is the test data and doesn't include real credit card numbers etc.

This forum is for possible solution/help/advice on issues related to SAP travel management and not for third party (AMEX) issues related to file specification. I can confirm that I have deleted the file and all of its contents from PC.

Secondly I only looked at the header of the file and it doesn't match with the specification that I have for GL1025. Therefore I didn't bother looking at other fields in the file because if the header doesn't match then it doesn't match with the AMEX GL1025 file specification.

The report prefix and report number as per the file specification should be in position 28 to 34 but in your file it is from position 32 - 37. You need to check and make sure that the data is in correct position.

Hope this helps.

Hi Thanks for your update. I would like to remove the GL1025 sample file from this forum. Please advice how to do this.

Moderators kindly help., since  I am unable to delete the folder. Although these are test data, still I dont want to take any risk.

Hi Vijay

Unfortunately I am unable to send you a test file. You should contact AMEX for that.

Thanks

Hi Vijay,

You can contact AMEX and they can provide you with the GL1025 file specification - AMEX call this as 'Data File Guide' . The file specification will list the position of individual fields which you can check and compare with the data in the file.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

I have that guide from AMEX- GL1025 file specification. I tried matching the file I recvd from AMEX with the specification file but I am unable to match all the data.

There are lot of data which is not in sink with the file specification. Please help me how to identify the data and replace with the current data.

Hi Vijay,

If you have received the GL file from AMEX then it should really match. Unless someone has manually tweaked the contents of the file. Sorry for a stupid question but are you sure that you are looking at the GL file spec and matching it with a GL file and not with KR file and vice versa?

Without looking at the file I am unable to help you.

Thanks

Ankur
