Hi Krishnan

I read through the past discussion.

If I understand correctly you are in following situation.

Software

- SolMan is running on SP12

- Managed system is running on ST-A/PI 01R

Situation

- All pre-requisite notes are in place

- You uses solution without MAI flag on (Classic infra)

- BPM_DATA_COLLECTION job is running on Managed system

- No data available in BP Analytics Cube yet

Judging from above situation, I suspect 3 things.

1.Data is not yet collected in managed system due to missing authorization.

2.Data is not yet collected in managed system due to some error (like timeout due to online collection)

3.Data is collected in managed system and loaded into SolMan Cube. But you are looking at incorrect  Cube since you already activate Twin Cube

Case1.

Could you check your RFC user Role in Managed system. Following 2 user role should be checked.

SM_<SID>  / SMTM<SID>      * SID indicates SolMan SID.

Please check the user in managed system has role SAP_MANAGED_BPOANA_ALL (copied role).

If the user does not have this role, data is not collected.

Also the user should have authorization object S_TABU_DIS / Group SS / Activity 03

(Normally this authorization is included in RFC user result of SOLMAN SETUP)

Case2.

Please check your monitor setting. Do you set bakcgound flag for data collection setting.
If it is on, data collection is conducted by using background job (BPM_DATA_COLLECTION).
If this is off, data collection is conducted online process.
If your managed system has big data volume like more than 4-5 TB ERP, data collection
requires certain time. So in this case, there is a possibility data collection terminated due to timeout. Probably you may see some dump in ST22 with program /SSA/EKP or /SSA/E**.

In this case, please switch on background flag in your monitor object. And collect data.

Case3.

You already activated TwinCube by referirng to the configuration guide
(URL http://www.service.sap.com/~sapdownload/012002523100014525602014E/Twin_Cube_Guide.pdf )

If you arelady activate twincube, aggregated BP Analytics data is stored in the twincube side.

So in this case, please check the entry of cube 0SM_BPAMA from t-cs listcube instead of 0SM_BPMRH). And make sure you have connector for twincube.

*BP Analytics can run MAI based solution and Classic based solution. In both case you can use normal analytics cube and twincube (as of SP12).

Hope above information help you.

Hi Subhashini

If the data is avaialble in Cube, I suspect ollowing 3 possibilities.

1) connector Instance is not available

2) MDX connection is not available

3) Missing Authorization

1)Judging from your replay, I think you already activated Twincube. So you should have Twincube connector.

(Go to BPO Workcenter -> Maintain BPO Reporting Infrastructure <side menu>->Data Souce Manager)

Here you should have connector "BPA_TwinCube" and Connector Instance "BPA_TwinCube_default" as attached picture. If you see BPA_TwinCube_default to the Connector, then there is a problem. In this case, I recommend to create SAP customer incident since you need to fix the name.

2)If you have proper connect and active connector instance as above, please check MDX connection since BP Analytics access cube data by using MDX connection. If MDX connection not working, even there is data in Cube, you cannot see it in BP Analytics.

To check, go to SM59 ->TCP/IP connections -> MDX PARSER -> Conduct connection test to this RFC destination.  This should work without problem.

3)Please check whether you have proper authorization.
At least you should have Role ZSAP_SM_BPOANA_ALL.

Hi Keiji,

Thank you so much for the reply...

the connector is missing in our case....

MDX parser and authorization is OK...

is the connector will come automatically..or we can define it..

i didn't a option to create the connector....

As mentioned , i will raise a OSS message.

Thanks all for the advice and guidance.

Thanks,

Subhashini.

Hi Subhashini

The situation is interesting....

As far as I remember, Twincube connector seems to be created when we conduct TwinCube activation processes. (I checked connector before conducted following. It was empty. But aftr conducting all the steps, I was able to see the connector). But in my past case, I got incorrect name connector "BPA_TwinCube_default".  So I had to fix the name. But I think fixing the name is abnormal. So if you have this situaiton, I recommend to create SAP incident.

In your case, connector itself is missing. So I wonder why it is missing.

The possible reason that I can guess is, you do not conduct 1 of the step above.... (Migrate AKFI Directory ?).

Hi Experts,

I am facing a similar issue after activating the twin cubes. I dont see connector BPA_TwinCube in the list. Please help me with the steps to create the connector. Thank you.

Hi Niroop

Did you apply twincube required SAP notes  by referring to SAP Note 1759233 ?

Like notes ?

2029683

2026231

2048029

Recently in another envisonment, I activated twinCube. This time, we correctly have connector.

If it is missing, I suspect some SAP Notes were missed before you conduct conversion.

Anyway, if the proper connector is missed after twincube conversion, you have to create it manually.

Go to SE80 display package AGS_BPM_RI. And under webdynpro application, display

AGS_RI_CONNECTOR_REPO.

By doing right click test, open DSM change mode screen. And then add missing connector

Technical Name = BPA_TwinCube

Description = Business Process Analytics Twin Cube

Implementing Class = CL_AGS_RI_CONN_BPA_TWCUBE

If you are not sure the operation, please raise SAP incident to fix the setting.

Hi Keiji,

I was able to manually create the connectors for the Twin cube as per the steps mentioned by you. After creating connector, I am able to get the data in the dashboard.

Thanks a lot for your expert guidance. Appreciate it!!

Hi,

Which flavour of Monitoring you have activated.

Normal, BW Alerting, Analytics?

Could you paste the screenshot of the same?

Go to Business Process Operation Workcenter--> Select Setup Buiness Process monitoring--> Select the solution-->Select the Logical component--> then in result window go to setting and select flavour.

There is you see analytics as the flavour for the MO that you have activated or not.

Hi,

Could you also verify if the BPM_ACube is active in data source manager.

Also check if the BPM_ DATA_COLLECTION job is running correctly in managed system.

Hi

Thanks for your info

Better you can raise the support ticket to SAP, From SAP support some one has to logon and check the status for your Solman system.

Hi,

You need to be on SP12 for BPM with ST-A/PI 01R.

BPM based on MAI is not stable on Solman 7.1 SP10.

/BI0/F0SM_BPMRH this table contains the alert data collected from MO objects.

Hi Abhishek,

i have mentioned the SP level on ST-PI as 10...

for ST- the SP level is 12.

And we have configured classical BPM only...the check mark on MAI is not checked.

As mentioned earlier, the data is not getting updated..MO also is greyed out....

shen i checked slg1 for user SM_BPMO

RFC failure return code: 2 'resource_failure'

is that something we need to check....

the RFC group in extractor framework is default....

Thanks,

Subhashini.

Hi,

"we have configured classical BPM only...the check mark on MAI is not checked".

In case of Classical monitoring. You will be using the older workcenter which doesnt have Analytics.

For Using analytics  i think you should be on MAI( Set the Check mark).

If you are going to set the check mark you need to migrate the solution from classical to MAI based or create a new solution and select the MAI and setup the analytic flavour monitoring.

Hi Abhishek,

one of my collegue ahs done the anlytics in SP10.. and has got the data.

Also it is available since SP5,it should work in classical BPM also rite.

Am not getting the logic why we should go for MAI.

Kindly clarify.

Thanks,

Subhashini.

Hi

I think for this you have to implement the SAP Note corrections based on your Solman version & SP level.  Could you share your Solman version & SP level?.

Hi Sriram,

we have implemented the notes that are mentioned in RTCCTOOL.

what else could be the problem.

Basically the background remains a gray area..

from where the data is getting loaded into BW..what is the frequency of the data load.

All the information is not clearly available.

From configuration point of view we have done everything. but still data is missing.

kindly guide on this.

Thanks,

Subhashini.

how data is getting loaded in BW cube for analytics...

can we able to trigger a manual upload...

Hi Subhashini

I think you have to read the BP documents and then define the process chain, Kindly follow the SAP & SCN links

You can find the setup guide on the service market place -> https://websmp109.sap-ag.de/bpm -> Setup Guide - Business Process Analytics 7.1

Hi Sriram,

do we really need to define any process chain?

I have not seen anything on the definition of process chain in the configuration document.

Could you please share those details.

Thanks,

Subhashini.

Hi,

Could increase the date selection from last 2 months to the current date.

And see if you see any result.
