Is it possible to connect/authenticate to NWBC using LDAP password instead of a GRC account password ?

Dear All,

Following the implementation of End User Logon which allows users to create requests using their LDAP passwords.

We are wondering if it's possible to have an Approver Logon.

In fact, our main concern is to let approvers connect to NWBC using the LDAP password.

This way, users wouldn't need to have two different passwords (LDAP and GRC passwords).

Another way to look at it is a sort of synchronisation between LDAP and GRC passwords.

Our question is as follows:

Is it possible to authenticate to NWBC using LDAP instead of a GRC account ?

Thank you and best regards,

Jamal HALAQ

Hi Jamal

This has been raised a few times and SAP do not have it as a proposed list of enhancement. Their recommendation is to implement SSO. Please refer to the following information in Ideas Place where it was raised

One of the SCN discussions for wanting Approvers to use End User Logon Authentication for approval -

The idea rejected by SAP where they have advised to use SSO, The main reason for there rejction is that it would be a change to the actual SAP logon authentication and that approvers still need SU01 account for Workflow and authorisations. - Approvers authentication to be based on a data source instead of GRC SU01 : View Idea

Current Idea (I raised after discussion with SAP) as an extension to SSO (needs 10-15 votes to even be considered) - GRC Approver for Reaffirm Requests to authentication against Data Sources : View Idea

Hi Colleen,

Thanks a lot for your helpful answer.

It gives us an idea of what can be done with the present solution.

By the way, I voted for the current idea you have raised as we need the same.

Thanks and best regards,
