Dear friends,

I am using Sol Man 4.0. In t.code SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN, under "system landscape" tab, under sub tab, "Systems", i am finding two icons namely,

1. Select scenario

2.Shipment routes

What is the main functionality of these options?

In what way it helps for our business?

Thanks

Senthil

Hello Senthil,

1. Select scenario means:

Have SAP Solution Manager determine the respective logical components for your business scenarios as selected in the business blueprint (SOLAR01) - based on the product versions these scenarios require (such as ECC 5.0 or CRM 6.0). This option is usually chosen if the project teams is not quite sure at the project start what kind of products and components are the right ones for operating certain scenarios.

To test the effect of this option: You can first go into SOLAR01, select scenarios from the Business Process Repository and save your selection and then go back into SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN and hit this button.

2. Shipment routes are necessary in the context of change request management:

Transport routes basically define the path along which a change will be transported from DEV -> QAS -> PRD. This is used for instance in status tracking alongside your transport routes.

For more information you can check out the online documentation such as:

on Implementing ... -> Projects -> Project Administration (and respective tab) and

Change Request Management.
