Split inspection lot

Hi All,

Do someone know (and how), if its possible to split an inspection lot.

We don't know at GR if we are going to need 2 inspection lot, 3 or 1. So we would like to generate 1 at the moment of GR and the split it.

Example:

Purchase Order 100 un. GR 100 un >> Create Inspection lot for 50 un (Inspect. Lot 1000100). WITHOUT doing any UD, we will like to split that 1000100 inspection lot, into 3 different once (Example: Inspection lot 1000101 - Qty. 20, 1000102 - Qty. 20  and 1000103 Qty. 10 ).

Thanks a lot,

Hi Diego,

To be honest, I still do not understand what business process you are trying to achieve here. I mean, do you wish to have multiple inspection lots at the time of GR to push materials 1:1 between Inspection lot/batch stock to unrestricted/Block, etc, or you are not very sure at the time of GR that how many inspection lots you need. So you are trying to check other options, like MvT 309 (material to material transfer, etc) and in turn wish to create additional inspection lots.

Some of the options (as explained above in the thread...) are :

1. If you know how many inspection lots you will need to create at the time of GR:

a) Create multiple GR for the same material & Batch. To do this, you need to select Control Insp. lot setup as "Each Material Doc, material, batch Sloc, etc".

b) Create a single GR with multiple line items with individual inspection lots. Please remember to activate Control Insp. lot setup as "For each material document item"

c) Distribute quantity during GR using the standard functionality in GR screen. This also calls for activating Control Insp. lot setup as "For each material document item".

2. If you are not sure how many inspection lots you will need to create at the time of GR to track the quantity separately, under different heads like blocked, unrestricted, scrap, etc. Also, the STOCK QUANTITY POSTING of material is more important than the number of inspection lot created in the process -

To my understanding, you can post the GR for the complete quantity with one GR. Then one inspection lot will be created. Now form the UD screen, go to inspection stock - add the stock quantity under individual heads. In this way the stock will be distributed without using UD but MvT like 321 (unrestricted stock) will be posted in the background ..(Note that you didn't wished to do any UD ...).

Please check and confirm.

Thanks,

Arijit

Hi Rivera

We can split Inspection lot while doing GR.

Let us consider,

PO qty is 100 and do GR for partial quantity (say 20,20,20,20,20) then five inspection lots will get generated.

Thanks for your answer. The issue is that we don't now exactly if we need to split it or not at the moment of GR.

So, we must do it after this.

Im trying to do a UD with a 309 for a new material (even is the same one, but changing the storage location), and then activate inspection 08. So creating a new inspection lot.

But, I don't think this is possible, because the program is checking stock on the new storage location.

Do someone try something like this ??

As I know, it is impossible to create new insp. lot from usage decision. (SAP behavior)

If another movement is OK, then you can use the lot origin 08 (stock transfer).

1) GR without inspection

2) item-seperated stock transfer with inspection

Option 1. Split the item when you perform GR.

Option 2. Use the inspection point to record the insp. results by identification.
