Huge size for job log files in a single day

Hi,

We notice space issue on our SAP System and see usr/sap/../SYS/global has job log related files occupying huge space.

The files are not older than a week. In a day, we see more than 50 files getting written of which many of the files cross more than 1 GB in a single day. Now we already checked the REORG* jobs and are running fine, it is obvious as GLOBAL directory does not have files older than a week.

My question is, what could cause this directory to flood with so many files in a single day occupying GBs of data together causing space crunch !?

Thanks in advance for your inputs.

Regards,

Naga

maybe the best way to handle the situation is to put some GB to the filesystem, because the global directory is reorged properly.

Hi,

it is obvious as GLOBAL directory does not have files older than a week.

Because the job(s) are scheduled to run weekly.

You can just change the time interval. Refer

Some of the files in Global directory

1. Job files(JOBLG)/Spool  -

2. WorkFlow Files(WF*) - Use RSWTTR02 to clean them. - &

Hi,

this is dependand on the configuration of your system. You can configure your systen to (for example) drop job logs in the global directory.

In global directory you can find protocol files. These are from (depends on your system configuration):

- Jobs

-Spool

-BDC

If the system runs full and your joblogs are in the global directory then the jobs abort. It's the same for spool.
