URL (domain) Lumira connects to for registration?

What is the URL that the Lumira desktop edition connects to when registering the application? Domain (like *.sap.com) or even IP address would also be fine. This is to whitelist the URL (, domain, IP address etc.) in our secondary proxy server so I use this proxy in the preferences. Our primary proxy server requires Windows Authentication (proxy user/password is not accepted). I was eventually able to complete the registration for myself after I had connected my laptop to public WiFi (not requiring a proxy server). But this is cumbersome when for example checking for updates, as well as for my colleagues who have a desktop connected only to internal LAN.

Hi,

This is a good question, and very helpful illustration of real-world complexity. FYI - as of SP22 and above, the proxy detection is improved, so save confusion and user-entry error.

Coming back to your enquiry,  I'm of the opinion (although not 100% sure) that it would register against the Service Market Place (SMP) which is currently migrating!

1) this is the old load-balancer http://service.sap.com/support  (domain sap.com)  which routes to a large number of app servers with an address like https://websmpXXX.sap-ag.de/support  where XXX could be a number in the range 1XX to 2XX  (followed by domain .sap-ag.de)

2) this is the new support site https://support.sap.com/home.html   (domain sap.com)

So I think your trusted sites list should include domains: sap.com  +  .sap-ag.de

Do let us know how that works for you .

H

Hi,

registration and updates are two different things.

When you register not using a key code then you either register with an existing Lumira Cloud account or create a new Lumira Cloud account. So cloud.saplumira.com is the URL used. depending on your network settings you may need a proxy. As Henry mentioned improvements to proxy are planned.
