Hi Experts,
I tried to search what is application server,Message server, and load balancer. Can any one explain me what is application server,Message Server,Load balancer in SAP PI.
Thanks in advance.
Hi Satish,
Application server can be any third party system, database which handles all messages, programs user requests etc to handle its transactions. SAP PI handles A2A operations to transfer messages between these applications (Using File, JDBC, JMS, Mail or any adapters )
Message server handles messages for basic operations like queuing, prioritization.
Monitoring and Administration of the SAP Message Server - SAP Library
Load balancing server is installed to share the load of main instance for better performance and message handling. Load balancing servers are installed for SAP PI to share load or to dedicate few instances for specific (like RFC) requests.
These are more generic key words, you can google to get more information.

Pranav

Dear Satish,
In Layman terms ,
Application Server is your PI and ECC system . Each system has their own message server which covers message flow in any application .
If Messages are flowing with large number then we use load balancer which divide the load of one Message/Application Server into other Message/Application.

Rudra
