Write file authorization

Hi Experts,

I have a transaction that writes a file using the 'Write File' action block to the WEB content.

This transaction works when I execute it. I have administrator rights.

When the users want to execute it however, it does not work. The 'catch' block is triggered but there is no message to it.

I assume it has something to do with roles. Our users have following roles:

  • SAP_XMII_User
  • SAP_XMII_DynamicQuery

Can anyone point out what role they need to be able to write files?

Thank you,

Philippe

I think you will need SAP_XMII_DEVELOPER role for this

Hi Partha,

Thank you for your reply. I added the role to test and this indeed works. However, It doesn't seem like a good idea to give every user development rights as this will give them access to the workbench. Is there an action under this role that I can grant seperatly?

Hi Philippe,

Try adding XMII_Workbench_all action to your role.

Hello Anushree,

I am hoping to find a solution that does not allow the users access to the workbench.

Hi Phillip

The action name is XMII_Workbench_Content. Trying adding only this to the user.

Thank you Partha, this is the best solution. No access to the workbench, but write file works!

Hi,

Can you let me know how we can assign action to user in SAP MII?

Thanks,

Neha,

You are replying to a five(5) year old thread with a new question. You would be better served and it would benefit the community more if you started a new thread with your new question. Also assigning roles and actions is more of a Netweaver UME/Security Admin thing and really only consumed by MII so you may want to look more into that area of the forum and documentation.
