Hi ,

I've installed a new system on AIX 5.3 , SAP NW2004S ( SSM 4.0 ) with Oracle 10.2.0.2 and TDP Oracle / TSM 5.3. The tivoli backup / archive client, api and backint tool works fine. When I want to make an SAP backup using brbackup -t online -m full -c the following message appears:

orassm> brbackup -t online -m full -c

BR0051I BRBACKUP 7.00 (18)

BR0280I BRBACKUP time stamp: 2007-04-04 14.09.30

BR0054I BRBACKUP terminated with errors

What does the errno 22: mean ? And how can I fix this.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Why doesn't it working ?

P.S. : dsmc inc is still working for all files and filesystems except the /oracle/SID/sapdata's with subdirs.

Hello all,

I've found a SAP Note # 948294

which describe this problem.

Online backup of oracle database not working with JFS2 and Oracle 10g

External tools fail with various errors when accessing a file:

cp: A system call received a parameter that is not valid.

0653-902 Cannot open the specified file for reading.

DBV-00100: Specified FILE not accessible

errno(22) A system call received a parameter that is not valid.

Mount the oracle filesystems on jfs2 with -o cio .

t.k.

Thomas,

Where are you triggering this backup? I know the permissions are correct for orassm, but if you are running this from say DB13, the effective user is ssmadm, which may not have permissions to open the file. Same goes with the TSM - what is the effective user who triggers the job here? Is your TSM server configured to run this job as orassm?

Is ssmadm part of the dba group? If you logon as orassm and run the backup from the BRTOOL set, do you get the same error?

Just a few questions to help you resolve. Please let me know how you do with this - I have similar issues with an AIX/Oracle 9.2 environment.

Thanks!

Tim
