Based on the scenario, you require to configure Partner function accordingly.

Normally in sales ordere, if you check not only sold to party, but other fields such as sales area .... are also greyed out.

However, if you want to configure Scenario: Sales order with dummy customer, you will require sold-to-party in editable mode.

You should refer to site: help.sap.com

SAP Best Practice --> Baseline Practice --> For Eg: Based on ECC 5.0 --> Select Country, say India --> Technical Information --> Building Block --> select Country, say India --> List of scenario's & basic configuration.

Yes it is not recommended/advisable to allow “Sold to party” to be changed during sales transaction.

But if you want then use transaction code VOPA and then select the option “Sales Document Header”. Then click on “Partner Procedures” and note down the procedure assigned to your document type.

Then click on “Partner Procedures” to come back to Partner procedures for sales document header screen. Now double click on the relevant procedure that is assigned to your document and uncheck “Not changeable” against partner function SP (Sold to Party).

It will work.

Hi Nagaraj,

As said by Harsh, it is not advisible to change the value.

But you can change this value by using configuration change.

SPRO->Sales and Distribution->Basic Functions->Partner determination->Set Up Partner Determination.

Choose, Set Up Partner Determination for Customer Master and then

Click on Partner Functions in Procedure and give your Partnery function as Sold-to and Uncheck Not modifible.

Please check with the Partner Determination Procedure as assigned to your Sales Order Type.

Partner Function for Sold To party should be set as Non Modifible.

An Ideal Practise is to keep Sold To Party as Non Modifible in the Partner Functions for Sales Order.

Reward Points if it Helps !!!!!
