SAP /PI users

I wish to know what is the recommendation of SAP when maintaining logs.

I have transaction hitting from PI and sending response (example Material Document Number the request hit data ) or

Internal request . How is the log maintained in ECC .

Created Ztable and stored error and resposes. Please suggest any other way as ztable will grow

and is this the only way.

Regards

Sharada

Thanks Iñaki Vila

But how to do an audit report on the data request that has come to ECC

and the response sent from ECC in a single shot.

In standard logs how to capture individual response of a process

example " A QM02 bdc run and a number generated is a response"

How to check this. I need transaction based with storing in some table

procedures and standards

Yes so the log is maintained in my Ztable . Written the response and and request in a

header and detail table. Is there any other standard.

Hi Sharada,

No Ztable is needed to monitor the request/response if you use a proxy abap to communicate between ECC and PI. If you use a RFC you don't have any other standard way to monitor this communication in ECC.

Hi Sharada,

If you use in your ECC a proxy abap to communicate with PI you can have the transaction sxi_monitor to follow the communication, before you need to enable it in the sxmb_adm transaction. However, for perfomance issues, this log will need to be deleted after some time depending the load of your ECC system. I usually set one or two weeks.

Hope this helps.

Regards.
