Hello Experts,
I need to maintain Packing instructions in POP1 for Auxiliary material. We have one Pallet in which we will have 2 auxiliary packaging materials and each aux package material has 10 material pieces. We can maintain 'P' for Pallet and 'M' for Material but how do we include auxiliary material while trying to create the package instructions.
Also, while maintaining Package Determination in POF1 we give the key combination and then there is one field "Primary". What is the purpose of this field?
Really appreciate if somebody could answer these two questions.
Thanks,
Karan
Hi,
try multilevel packaging:
1) create packing instruction xxx for auxiliary packaging material 1 with your 10 materials:
type component
P material code for auxiliary material 1
M material a
M material b
...
2) create packing instruction yyy for auxiliary packaging material 2 with your 10 materials:
type component
P material code for auxiliary material 2
M material c
M material d
...
3) Finally create a packing instruction zzz:
type component
P material code for pallet
I xxx > packing instruction number of step 1
I yyy > packing instruction number of step 2
POF3 (determination) should be on zzz packing instruction

Hi Joan,
So Auxiliary packing can be done only thru multilevel packing? Cant we create packaging instruction abc like this -
type component
P material code for Pallet
P material code for auxiliary material
M material a
After this can we create packing determination POF1 for material a and packing instruction abc?
In case of your example, while creating POF1 determination we need to maintain zzz packing instruction for all material a,b,c,d and then within zzz system will check each packing instruction till it finds the given material?
Regards,
Karan
Hi Karan,
if you pack your auxiliary packing into a pallet then you need multilevel packaging assuming that auxiliary packaging is used to pack ítems.
I don´t think your packaging instruction suggestion would work.
I my example, system will start with packaging instruction zzz and will execute packaging as per packaging instructions xxx (packing materials - a, b, ... in auxiliary packaging material 1) and then per packaging instruction yyy (packing materials - c, d, ... in auxiliary packaging material 2)

JM
